Elapid
Red-bellied Black Snake is one of eight species of black (including the King Brown) snake found in Australia and New Guinea. It is usually has glossy black back and red belly. Juveniles are similar to the Eastern Small-eyed Snake, with which it can be easily confused. It is generally not an aggressive species. It may grow up to 2 metres.
Distribution: Relatively common throughout region.
