Yes Cath I poled this tree and it is not a true hollow nor much of a water tree so not sure why they keep going there

Thanks Stuart - if you see a young bird with a white instead of grey beak - that would indicate nesting occurred nearby

They are common in my suburb. I see small groups of them regularly while walking my dogs.
