I wondered whether it was not native. It was a brief sighting on a balcony in Milsons Point, Sydney. Did not hear sounds. Have also seen a skink in one of the plant pots.

Whilst it's not really possible to positively identify this sighting due to poor image quality, it looks most like the introduced Asian House Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus). You may be able to help confirm this ID, by noting its distinctive loud, multiple-chirp call ‘chik, chik, chik…’. @nancyp - do you recall hearing this sound?

This is something much more special, the beautiful native Southern Spotted Velvet Gecko (Oedura tryoni), which is under competitive pressure from the exotic Asian House Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus). Look after these little darlings when you see them. :)

Definitely a blind snake, probably belonging to the genus Anilios, and most probably Anilios nigrescens but it could be another species like Anilios bituberculatus, which has recently been recorded in nearby Port Macquarie. Therefore it's prudent to list this as Anilios sp. because of the uncertainty.
