Same goes for this frog, hind leg colour would have helped to be certain and if possible a wash before photographing may show important features not obvious when covered with dirt etc. Obviously not relevant if you are reluctant to disturb the frog.

Dear John, Ellen my partner thought she saw blood and so we immediately released it. Must have been the hind leg coloration you are talking about. We will try and take better photos in the future, now that we know what you’re looking for, JB
