The simple black head capsule is a common character in the Arctiinae.
It is intriguing with the paired dark tussocks on A1.
Is in in your protective custody to see what moth it develops into?

No sorry. I did not have a container with me and this one and the other i posted were on the handrail so not sure what to feed them anyway. The last one i took into custody i gave plant material it was on and some apple but it died.

If you find a caterpillar away from a food plant, it is either ill or looking for somewhere to pupate,
