User's notes

Drama on a small scale high up on a tree trunk. The telephoto images show a European Wasp attracted to a spider's prey; one of the wasp's legs getting caught in the web; the wasp trying to escape as the spider investigates; the wasp eventually escaping just before the spider arrived. Unsure as to the identification of the spider and its prey.

The spider's prey looks like some kind of leafhopper (e.g. Eurymelinae) or planthopper (Fulguroidea).
