User's notes

This area of Gungahlin pond is located on the corner of Lexcen Ave and Gungahlin Dve, closest to Massie Place. There are more reeds and vegetation than the photo on the map. At around 2.5 mins can I hear a call like the 'corkscrew'? This are would be a good site to monitor. During October 2019 I monitored and recorded the area of GUN001 where the stormwater drain flows into the pond down near the white park on Ibis St (Nicholls). However when i went to review on Friday 14/11/19 all the vegetation near the footbridge (where the frogs were) has been removed and there are just stones there now and it is dry - very sad:( there were no frog calls heard. I have before and after photos.

So do I understand right that you monitored at a slightly different spot?? will check this out on the map. would you suggest a permanent move to this new site location??

corks screw frog is Uperoleia laevigata- can not hear this on your recording but a close and slow Crinia parinsignifera- which is easily misidentified as an Uperoleia

aha- just reminded my leaky brain about this! I am all for discontinuing GUN001 and setting up a more meaningful and frog-full site nearby. Once I have the exact location from you I will set up the site- maybe GUN002. once that is done I can move this survey over to the new site- and yes- if you want to check that one out again once it is a little warmer, that would be great!! smiles
