Castiarina praetermissa (lycid mimic jewel beetle)

(Carter, 1921)

One of many lycid mimic jewel beetles from the ACT region, this distinctive yet not often seen buprestid has strong black markings linear to it suture (middle) and extending laterally across its elytra (wing covers). Ventrally it is black with blue reflections.
