Hi Alison, They were different individuals and probably different species. I have previously been asked to split postings that contained photos of more than one individual for that reason. Not sure what to do.

Hi Kat, I understand your confusion however, although they look different they are all Trachymela sp. as you correctly suggested for each. CNM doesn't identify this species any further than this level so in this instance it would be best to put them in one sighting but include the photo of each one citing the number as three.

Hi Alison, before I do as you say let me try to convince you one last time to let me leave it as it is. I understand that CNM does not distinguish between the different Trachymela species at present but it might in the future, and we would lose information by combining them into one. The three Trachymela beetles were not together. They arrived separately and left separately and they looked quite different to each other. BTW. The time when I was asked to split a posting of moth photos, the two different individual moths were the same species but just different individuals. I don't want to be difficult. I hope you understand my point.
