Mike this looks like a morning glory Ipomoea species but I don't know this genus very well. I will check it out on Monday.

The thorny woody stem and the leaves in the background belong to a blackberry.

Thanks Betty does seem to be a good match - will check it on the ground and remove it if ID is correct
