The Caterpillar's head is the red feature with two 'horns' of black-tipped hairs. It was sighted on a flowering Wattle and was relatively slow moving.

The larvae that I know in Olene, Orgyia, Psalis , and Teia, all have four dorsal tufts, not three, and the tufts are all the same colour, not two colours as in this specimen.
Orgyia australis has prominent lateral tufts from a1 and a2, which this specimen does not have, and the hairs in the head pencils are of various lengths, and not all the same length as in this specimen.
I think Lymantriidae species (family) is the best we can do until someone else finds one and rears it to an adult, as all the taxonomy has been done on adult moths.
