Spent a while watching, and very suspicious that there were 2, but could only swear to there being one (was continuously on the move). As well as being the largest bee there, it was also the noisiest ;)

Wow christine assuming the ID is correct this is another staggering and highly significant find, suggesting that the population at the Botanic Gardens was not due to translocation but maybe we have a relic population in the ACT.

So sorry Michael, I had the wrong location - was trying to put a number of sightings in in a hurry. This was at the same location as the Bee(s) reported a week or so earlier.
