Canberra Nature Map records have shown that this plant is not as rare in the ACT as we feared, with a large and widespread population within the new Molonglo River Reserve. I will be recommending that this species be taken off the rare plant list, enabling us to focus our conservation effort where it is needed.

I've put in a number of sightings now along the stretch of the river near Southwells and Clos Crossings. The photos show just how common this plant is on this part of the river. The following sighting is of particular interest:

So I had a good day out exploring the river bank while the water is low.
