I am inclined to think this may be a new species. The flower stalks are far longer than in PlantNet or even in the new Flora of Victoria on line ( to 7 cm long). The stalks in your photos appear to be about 10 cm long. The mucro (point) on the sepals also appears to be longer than 1 mm long. Could you go back and get a specimen? Michael Mulvaney should know who to apply to for a permit.

Ken I can arrange a permit to pick native plants for scientific study for you

Thanks Betty, I was wondering about this one. My suggested name was what I was left with after I had eliminated everything else. I assume with Geranium one needs to collect an entire plant including the roots, but do you know if Geraniums are likely to have seeds and fruit on the plant at the same time or is the plant likely to finish flowering before seeds are set? I will have to see about a permit.

All the keys I have looked at require both flowers and mature seeds. This rarely happens at the same time. They also require examination of the roots. I have just found my copy of the paper key n flora of Victoria. It could be Geranium sp. Pale pink flowers (M.Gray 5847) Vic. Herbarium . If so it will be a first for the ACT and will need checking out anyway.
