Australian Citizen Science Association seeking to reactivate

Exciting news! ACSA is proud to announce that the ACSA chapter for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is being reactivated. While citizen science in ACT is flourishing, ACSA has recognised the need for a formal presence in the territory to further enhance and support these initiatives.

But why does ACSA need a ACT Chapter, or chapters in any other jurisdiction? Regional chapters play a pivotal role in fostering the growth and sustainability of citizen science endeavors. They can influence regional policies, leverage local knowledge, engage and create communities of practice and optimize resource allocation. ACSA Chapters help to build awareness of ACSA and citizen science in their local membership and areas of interest, and provide a local voice, representation and communication channel at the national level.

Are you interested in supporting the growth of citizen science and ACSA in ACT? We are seeking ACSA-ACT Committee members who collectively bring a diverse range of strategic and practical skills and expertise. Prior experience in scientific disciplines, citizen science, or serving on regional and national committees is desirable.

Please submit your expression of interest by 31 August 2024. Note, committee members need to be members of ACSA in order to be appointed.

Feel free to seek more information by emailing the ACSA Chair, Annie Lane at chair@citizenscience.org.au

Thanks Michael
Good to see ACSA being reactivated. I have written to Annie but am too old and busy to join their committee.
Cheers
