Small patch of serrated tussock

Josh it certainly looks like it is serrated tussock, but I can't entirely rule out the possibility that this is Tall Speargrass Austrostipa bigenticulata. Did you happen to notice any seed heads about and what did they look like. If you didn't observe a seed head was it partly an almost golden-straw colour? Thanks Michael M

Hi Michael, I didn't see any seed heads around, but then also didn't look too hard. I was relying on the vigorous recruitment, serrated feel between the fingers and the small white ligule. Hope this is enough for a +ve id. Thanks

Thanks Josh, your ID characters are good, My uncertainty led me to this paper http://www.weeds.org.au/WoNS/serratedtussock/docs/stbpmm1.pdf which has a good ID guide. You would think that after chipping 10,000s of the things I would have my eye in, but photos are a little deceptive.

Yes, there are several patches and plenty of isolated tussocks on Isaacs Ridge and Isaacs Pines. Some have been poisoned this year and some have been reported via Weed Spotter.
