I was guided by the MoV dictum which says the presence of the grey line on the outer edge of the wings is definitive for T. intermixtaria . The arrowed examples they give (from life and set specimens) also show the finer lighter coloured fringing hairs which are present here also. The examples for T. perlinearia they show generally lack both these features, although admittedly some are more boldly marked.
