According to Moths of Victoria Idaea costaria and I. inversata are similar, but may be distinguished as follows: I. . costaria is usually smaller, lighter coloured with a two-tone head and whitish antennae at the base. Whereas I. inversata is usually slightly larger, more strongly coloured (i.e. purplish red) and has basically a black head and antennae. Therefore I'm suggesting this specimen is I. inversata.
