User's notes

in unusual shape - we discussed recently whether the large crop of nightshade which we see again at the same spots where we removed them last year is the result of soil seed bank or animals spreading the seeds.... I definitely saw Currawongs picking fruits but wonder whether foxes would eat them too (foxes eat rose fruits and I found fox scats of pure hips).

I'm pretty sure these are the remnants of Solanum nigrum, Blackberry Nightshade, either in fox-scat or Currawong-regurgitate format.

One way to be sure would to be to collect some of the regurgitated seeds and grow them. I could do the growing. Privet seeds are also black now.

Barb there are 100s may be a 1000 of nightshades but no privet (yet). I will take photos of privet seeds to compare.
