Significant sighting

Tapirlord noted:

9 Feb 2024

Uncommon in the ACT where it is known from 7 previous collections, this is a new recorded location.

User's notes

A single very large tussock, one of the most impressive in the genus I have seen to date. Culms around 80cm high, leaves to 35cm long and over 1cm wide. Leaf blade largely flat, channeled at the base. Panicle lanceolate in outline, opening out upon maturity. Lemma evenly covered in hairs, upper series of hairs particularly long. Lateral lobes exceed this upper series. Growing in a small pocket of dry forest under peppermints. I’m curious for the thoughts of others :)

I will have to keep an eye out. I swear I occasionally see plants that would match this description but I have never paid close attention.

Wouldn't be at all surprised, the Rytids are a complex bunch! To me this one stood out, I rarely see one this impressive
