User's notes

I heard GGs near the Baldys' hollow and found an unknown pair at the branch/hollow right next to the Baldys', which can be seen to the right. At one point the female looked into the Bs' hollow and was repelled by loud ‘hissing’ noises from inside (second photo). I assumed this was a parent, but as both arrived together later, it must have been the chick/s. She went back to the other branch and both birds chewed vigorously around it (third photo). They flew off together after about 7 minutes in the area. I heard GG 'talking' nearby after they left, and after 10 minutes Mrs B arrived at the hollow and went in and started feeding. Baldy arrived a few minutes later, she came out and he went in and started feeding (fourth photo). She flew off shortly after to a perch on a dead tree some distance away, and 5 minutes later she called loudly and Baldy stopped feeding, emerged, and flew to join her. They sat together for a couple of minutes then took off together and flew back towards the hollow (last photo). Later in the morning, John saw Mrs B feeding the chick/s from the edge of the hollow, although Baldy went right in when it was his turn.
