Fair comment. On a second look its hard to reconcile the first three images with the fourth one.
A Tiger moth perhaps eg. Brunia replana or Phenacomorpha bisecta?

@mcleana: was there a yellow line along the outer margin, like in photos 1,2 &3, or not as in photo4?

Based on the 4th image I think Brunia replana is likely. It seems the highly foreshortened aspect (from the underside) of the first three photos made it difficult to focus and get a sharp image overall.

i did have a lot of trouble getting the phone to focus which might explain the different looking photo's 1-3. Photo 4 is the most accurate looking of the photos. I can have a look on the weekend and see if they're still around get some better photos using a different camera.

@mcleana : I do not understand how any photographic problems can give a moth the appearance of a yellow line around 3 sides of the forewing in some photos and only 2 on another. I find it hard to believe they are photos of the same moth individual. Do I gather that there were several similar moths in the vicinity when the photos were taken ?

I'd be happy to ID the 4th photo as Brunia replana if submiied alone, but I'm unsure about the other 3 photos.
