User's notes

Acacia implexa in grassy woodland mulched with grass clippings and other garden matter most likely by local resident; see also comment at https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4497502. Land manager staff who change frequently do not believe volunteers or refuse to take responsibility for issues such as spreading grass clippings in nature reserve including clippings of CNG. Volunteers suggested a number of things: 1. letter box drop in vicinity; 2. include info that adding organic matter increases already high nitrogen and phosphorous content of soil which may kill native plants; 3. high nutrient content of soil help invasive pest species CNG which spread in this area and which are hard to control as they require repeating poison spray; CNG threatens the grassy woodland and rehabilitation efforts by local volunteers including residents; 5. "Weeds on steroids"(ie high nitrogen & phosphorous) may pose an additional fire risk ( just recently there were a couple of fires a couple of 100 meters to the east); FoMM offered to sponsor trash bags or and extra green bin for one resident; who is known to spread grass clippings from mowing the back of his and his neighbour's gardens. It might be just to inform well meaning residents about the negative impact. Sorry for this long essay. I decided to write this down here because talking and writing to Parks and Conservation over 19 years had no effect and ever changing staff have no knowledge of the problem (so they say) or don't believe volunteers.

hi CarbonAI
A implexa has phyllodes (modified leaf stems that have photosynthesis function ); A. decurrens has bipinnate (true) leaves. Sorry, I forgot to confirm straight away.
