yeah agreed, based on the picture tho, scales especially at the tale seem very spinose, with a dark colouration, definitely favouring cunninghami over whitii

I agree there is not much to go on with this image, but there seems to be a white line below the eye, not a feature I would expect on cunnighamii.

given the piece of grass hanging over the lizards head, i think this may just be some grass, not a marking on the actual lizard.

I should add that Egernia saxatilis also has pretty prominent white markings along the lips. I am waiting until we see if we can get a clearer photo emailed to one of us. Maybe it is just my computer but this image looks quite strange.
