Thank you for identifying this vine as Clematis glycinoides for me. It had occurred to me that this species is not natural to the ACT. It seems to be a popular garden species. But should our Landcare Group remove this vine? The naturally occurring Clematis species occur on Mt Rogers and have extended their range considerably in the last 10 years. Would the two species hybridise? Thanks for any further advice. Rosemary
Clematis glycinoides is currently flowering on Mugga Lane (possible escape from old farmhouse) but the Clematis leptophylla has long since flowered so hybridisation is unlikely. Clematis aristata is not common in the area but there could be some overlap in flowering time.
