User's notes

This one was alive. Two recently deceased funnel webs were also observed being attended by ants. One a few hundred metres from this one and another on track up Gingera.

Could be a female Mouse Spider

looks like a red headed mouse spider female to me . . . we get them south of Queanbeyan this time of year.

All four specimens today showed no red on head.

The male M. occatoria has a red head but it is much smaller than the female

Well that explains why it was placid. That is not aggressive like I believe funnel webs are.

This one has Atracidae eye arrangement, so I'm going to identify it as such until I'm able to have a closer look. It's not Missulena.

Thanks Emma your comment about the eyes got me doing a google search and I cam across this pretty good guide for beginners like me, Kevin and Richard.

This one is Hadronyche sp. A lovely female specimen.
Unfortunately it's too difficult to get to species, but a confirmed genus is good!
