This plant is usually killed by canberra's frosts and is invasive on teh south coast - I wonder how one plant got to this location - defiantely worth pulling out and bagging for disposal
See comments at another Inkweed sighting Phytolacca octandra (Inkweed) Jane, if you are around the area again could you remove the specimen please? be careful as all parts are poisonous (gloves and bag). I assume Inkweed will be spreading in Canberra with milder winters and the huge number of Kurrawongs which I assume spread the seeds?
Had a hunt for this to-day (31 August) and failed to locate it. Instead I found (and removed) another five individuals, scattered over a small area, about 20 m lower downslope.
