User's notes

Inappropriate planting of 2 Callitris endlicheri by an anonymous person. I notified PCS and suggested removal. Callitris endlicheri is not a grassy woodland species.

Ingwersen, Evans and Griffiths (1974) noted that 'Callitris endlicheri occurs above Hackett as a single mature tree with many seedlings (Plate 5). It may be a relic or an invader, but there is no early reference to its presence in the area.'
I agree that these planted individuals should be removed. There is/was a similar well intentioned but ecologically misguided planting of C. glaucophylla on a N slope of Black Mountain.

thanks Isobel
the relict occurs on a steeper slope in the open forest. Since the Ingwerson et al study either more trees have grown or the authors overlooked this particular grove, see Trees of Mount Majura:

Over the years, I observed many new recruits at this site however they are always grazed to a stick (rabbits / hares / wallabies?) and therefore I don't think the species will be spreading.
