Maybe not a full adult or the light conditions make the eyes looking more brown-red rather than dark red? the Striated Thornbill has a more rufous-brown forehead with streaking and the Tasmanian Thornbill doesn't occur here; these are the 2 Thornbill species which according to my books look similar.
