Is the date of this sighting correct? The field guide says this is summer flowering (from December to March).

Yes, the date is correct, I took the photos on Tuesday the 22nd June. The 'Field Guide to Orchids of the Southern Tablelands of NSW including the ACT' says the flowering is between Dec-May, so I was surprised to see one flowering now. I first spotted it on the 19th June.

Thanks for the clarification, perhaps this is the first time it has been seen flowering in June in our region?

I think the flowers can often be quite long lasting and I have noticed they have quite a long flowering period. I saw them flowering in July last year. This sighting here is from August 2020, so I suspect the orchids forgot to read the field guide.

Thanks MattM, I remember your sighting from last year, stunning photo. Might have to go out looking for these stunning orchids today then.
