Definitely a Solanum and doesn't look quite right for Solanum cinereum which is the closest local match - your suggestion is possible given the location next to the Botanic Gardens - will leave for Rosemar Purdie to make the call
A good guess. The species has 'naturalised' in some parts of ANBG from plantings in its garden beds. There's a also a patch near the start of the walk in the ANBG Bush Precinct.
