Hi Michael, I'm pretty confident of the ID, due to the presence of both the juvenile and adult leaves in this specimen, some of which are tinted red (If you look closely at the top left corner of the first photo). The brownish-red stem also helps to distinguish this species, one of the common names for it on plant net is red-stemmed wattle. :).
Ahhh, no worries then, I'll cede to you, Michael. I have removed the confirmation and left A.rubida as a suggestion only. This is on the suburban side of Mt Ainslie so could it be a garden escapee?? I can't remember whether I saw it anywhere else on the mountain. :)
