Many plants growing in water Put in a couple more photos but the plants are very dried up Kurrajong point.

Hi Ruth, Growing in water makes it sound like these are wetland plants, which are plants that have various adaptations to let them grow in water-logged or wet conditions. I can see that these are actually terrestrial species (though i can't see well enough to ID ) which don't have such adaptations. Terrestrial plants can become surrounded by water or covered in water after a bit of rain, in which case they look like they are 'growing' in the water but are really just hanging in. Just how long a terrestrial plant can survive in a flooded or waterlogged situation varies with species, with season.

It looks somewhat like the remains of a species of Epilobium, a clearer image would be useful.
