This is a mycorrhizal fungus that grows in association with nearby plants, usually trees. It is useful, if possible, to note the nearby tree species as this helps to increase the knowledge of these associations. These fungi are related to the bolete fungi even though they have gills instead of pores. Another useful identification characteristic to note is if the mycelium (fungus threads) at the base of the stem are yellow or white. There are a number species in this genus in Australia that are still unnamed and to add to the confusion some are being incorrectly tagged with northern hemisphere species names. So sorry no species name!!
