According to Moths of Victoria (Parts 3 and 4) genus Prasiocyma may be distinguished from other emeralds (e.g. Chlorocoma) and Poecilasthena by features such as lack of single dorsal spots in the fore and hindwings, no mid-dorsal line on the abdomen, white antenna shading to cream or red, white costa shading from base through cream to red at apex and dark red fringe then paler to the trailing margin of the fore and hindwings.

The colour is somewhat of an artefact of the UV Led light at that angle.
