Great observation Rosemary! Only other option could be O. furcatus? Will try figure this out tomorrow though literature says the conspicuous female dies off in winter and young emerge late winter from the enigmatic egg sacs, approx 100 per sac.

Confirmed ID as O. magnificus this morning. Female clearly this sp. though warmly ensconsed within large leaf. Thanks to Rosemary for kindly meeting and pointing it out.
