User's notes

This was under a fallen log. When first lifted, the spider was sitting at the burrow entrance but retreated down the hole within a second or three before I could get the camera ready. She was dark grey-black, plump-abdomen, and did not rise up or act defensive. Body length would have been about 30 mm, leg span (although they were fairly tight in to her body) probably about 45-50 mm. All I was left with was the burrow and distinctive entrance web, which isn't a lot to go on. I assume Hadronyche species.

Very likely to be one of the funnelweb species (Atrax or Hadronyche).
