User's notes

Right next to the Snowy River wattle I chopped out this afternoon. Just making sure this is a local native. Kind regards, Roy.

It is possible but unlikely that it is Acacia implexa. Are there any seeds? The seeds of Acaia melanoxylon have a bright pink to red fleshy aril folded around the seed. Those of Acacia implexa have a white fleshy aril folded at one end of the seed.

Thanks for taking out the weedy wattle Roy - This one is a local and will hopefully spread seed to replace the snowy River Wattle

There might be some seeds still trapped in the old pods. The aril might be bleached instead of pink or red but it goes around the seed as Betty says. See sighting http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3343866.
