This is a most interesting plant in as much that several thousand plants have been planted across the ACT and the NSW Sout East Region in recent years and it would be good to locate and record endemic populations, as distinct from planted populations. Along with excellent propagated A. verticilliata types, some very ordinary looking seedling trees types have been raised planted in areas not previously known for these trees. In the future, There may be a level of probability for genetic swamping of endemic varities by non endemic plants. At the very least there is a need to better select seed trees and seedling types with greater rigour. Linda Broadhurst CSIRO has done a lot of useful work around these matter.
