User's notes

Thanks to Marcus Leach for the initial sighting of this ant with its live prey. There were at least 10 of these ants on a trail up the tree but only this one had prey. Not sure what the prey is. A small winged insect.

Hi Christine. Thanks for this, Shorty's sighting does appear to show the same type of winged prey insect as the one in this sighting. The trail of ants in this sighting was going up a Eucalypt and this ant with its prey was heading down the tree. I guess that the winged prey was found at high level in the Eucalypt. I haven't seen one of these before and don't know what it is. Tim
