This looks like the same patch you found in Ainslie, near the corner of Cox & Campbell Streets. It appears that nothing has been done to exterminate the weed?

Yes, it was removed, Michael I think. The main patches now are on the opposite side of the road to where I originally found it. There are two(?) plants or so where the original main patch was
