all frogs apart from the Crinia signifera sound further away- is there a pond nearby?? or are they in another part of the river?? That must be an awesome site as there are 7+ species calling

Yes, when I did recordings a few years back near the Briars Sharrow bridge I found that there were no frogs in the river itself but were in wet areas of the paddock. Didn't go in as it's private property and I don't know the owner.
Since the millennial drought broke the water has been really muddy (no explanation from the council) and I have recorded only a couple of individuals and a couple of spp in the recording area of the river. used to be absolutely packed with them. Could barely hear the other frogs because of the C parinsignifera around my feet. So sad.
And now I have a snake visiting the pond!
