User's notes

the Plains Froglet (Crinia Parasignifera), the Whistling Tree Frog (Litoria verreauxii), the Common Eastern Froglet (Crinia Signifera), the Spotted Grass Frog (Limnodynastes tasmeniensis) and the Pobblebonk (Lymnodynastes dumerilii) increasing in numbers as darkness grew. Along the way we stopped several times to listen for more frog calls, and to see David finding and catching 3 Crinia signifera. Water temperature 17?C, air temperature 15?C (7.40pm) David explained how to catch the eye-shine of frogs. Everyone could have a go in spot lighting a frog. And then, around 8pm, David heard a soft call and strode purposefully towards the middle of the river and amazingly - and for the first time at this site, came back with a Rocky River Frog!; Size: 100 m; Aquatic Veg: grasses; Bank Veg: melaleucas, low shrubs and grasses; Overhead Canopy: none; Landscape: eucys; QAQC Notes: 4 Rocky River Frogs found by David
