Could it be an Acronicta sp? I have another sighting of this moth at 4640931

Couldn' t find a match in Acronicta (genus) or Neumichta (genus).
I looked long at hard at Epicyrtica (genus) without finding a good match.

Metachrostis paurograpta ? Alophosoma syngenes ? Diatenes igneipicta ?
Calathusa basicunea (my favourite)?

Calathusa basicunea is a possibility but I'm not completely convinced. The pattern is a vague match but it seems to be quite variable and I like the greenish tinge.

I don't think iy matches any of the Calathusa spp. I've looked at.

Can we determine that it is in Noctuoidea, and not say Bombycoidea etc ?

It could be a Geometrid. Hmmm....

Middletonia suavis ?

Not M. suavis in my view. Looks like Noctuoidea to me.

Glenn thinks it is Noctuoidea as well (see your email Ian). I tend to agree but I still cannot find a match.
