Thanks Steve Steve818
Since about 2 years we find quite a few of those scattered here and there east of The Fair residential estate; see for instance https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4565625.
Similar picture with a whole range of introduced species which we observe since about 2-3 years in the area for instance Viburnum tinus Viburnum tinus (Laurustinus) and Pyrus calleryana Pyrus calleryana (Callery Pear)
The nature reserve east of The Fair residential is a fantastic showcase of the new invasion of bush / nature reserves from plants escaping from garden and landscaped sites. I encouraged the regular working Friends of Mt Majura volunteers of the Mondays @ The Fair team to record the above mentioned species on CNM. Until recently, we have not noticed them during our woody weed control work spanning over more than 15 years. The woody weed species we removed from the area before were mainly hawthorn, Cootamundra wattle, Briar and Dog Roses, Nettle tree, few non-native Hakea, and occasional Service tree (there was a different composition of woody weeds close to previous Canberry Fair which included on top of the above six mentioned species African Boxthorn, Robinia, Gorse, English Elm). On this topic see my woody weed report of 2015 at https://majura.org/the-continuous-struggle-with-woody-weeds/ particularly my comment on the difference in the composition of species controlled in the area east of the Fair and east of Hackett.
The Fair was build in 2011/12 (check Google Earth) and the residents moved in 2012; from memory, Callary Pears were planted in 2013 or 2014 as a street tree along Tay street.
