I am pretty sure this is Baldy with his son. I had last seen him 10 days previously, on 10 January, when he was with three others that I didn't get a good look at. They were moving around between trees, but Baldy perched where I could see him. I noticed that there were new red feathers appearing on the top of his head. He has previously regrown a sparse crest after the rigours of the breeding season are over, although it doesn't seem to last. I'm basing my identification on the slightly ragged appearance of his head feathers, but mostly on his behaviour - calling when he arrived and calming eating his Banksia seeds almost within touching distance. The young one kept further back and dropped his Banksia cone while trying to eat.
