User's notes

Possibly a Lactifluus species? Pileus velvety to the touch, gills did not exude "milk", but may have dried out? Growing in soil.

Agree a Lactifluus sp. Of the three I'm familiar with, not L. leonardii as no apparent red staining, not L. wirrabara as no obvious brownish colour on gill edges, so possibly L. sepiaceus. Haven't looked at these for ages so maybe more species I'm not aware of
