Perhaps a species of Conocybe.

@heino1 I was thinking possibly a Mycena, but I couldn't find one which fit.

Conocybe is related to Bolbitius. As in the latter genus, Conocybe fruitbodies are typically small and thin-fleshed and are often found in grassland (but by no means confined to that habitat). They seem mostly to a nondescript brown but I have seen photos of some white(ish) species. In this sighting I wondered if the spores were brownish – hence the ‘perhaps Conocybe’ suggestion. If it’s small, flimsy, dowdy, in a grassy habitat and with no evidence of growing from wood I think of Conocybe – especially if there’s a hint of brown spores. Of course, I can’t be sure that this sighting shows a Conocybe. As you'd guess, Australian Conocybes are little studied.
