Michael, I do hope you are successful! if you need support to convince Government let me know. These are the first garden escapes we noticed in the area 11 years after The Fair was built; it might be that the seeds are from further away such as from the "Solstice" residential estate west of Antill Street. The Currawongs are now present in far larger numbers in the reserve east of The Fair and the encroaching North Watson than I noticed 10-12 years ago. Thus with more fruit eaters / seed spreaders around, the garden escapers pop up. Previously we had a range of woody weeds that arrived from old farm / Valour park plantings such as hawthorns etc. I noticed a totally different range of woody weed species between the northwest slope ie east of The Fair and the west slope east of Hackett and Ainslie during major woody weed control work I carried out in 2014/15, see report https://majura.org/the-continuous-struggle-with-woody-weeds/. This is now changing. From memory, we spotted the first V. tinus plants east of The Fair last summer under the canopy of a number of eucalyptus trees see for instance Viburnum tinus (Laurustinus)
