Note blue spot at tail terminus.

The blue spot is from the abdominal tergites (on top of the abdomen). This is a common colour in Melobasis for this part of the beetle. The reason you can see the colour is because the apices of the elytra are missing (possibly bird damage).
This is definitely a Melobasis and quite likely M. sordida though identification to species level is not fully possible without examination of the specimen under a microscope.
